Moc Chau is one district of Son La Province, which is about 200 kilometres to the Northwest of Hanoi and the Moc Chau plateau is one of the ideal destination for travelers to discover Vietnam’s scenic spots. With the length of 80 kilometers, the width of 25 kilometers at an altitude of over 1,000m, the Moc Chau plateau is given the temperate climate with average temperature at 20 degree celcius. Therefore Vietnamese people usually call it as the “Da Lat” in the North of Vietnam.
Moc Chau has about twelve ethnic groups including Thai (33%), Mong (18%), Kinh (15%), Laos, …. Visiting Moc Chau you can discover the diversity of different cultures and the beautiful scenery of the place. Each season brings you something special to experience our Moc Chau.
Moc Chau is most famous for its unique beauty in spring when the plum and apricot blossoms. The Moc Chau forest turns into white only in January, which attracts lots of tourists to come and enjoy the special flower season.

Usually in March, Moc Chau is one more time covered by the white color of “Hoa ban” – one special flower of North-west mountain area in Vietnam. We have the “Hoa ban” festival and the Thai people in Moc Chau celebrate the spring festival of the year.

If you visit Moc Chau in April and May, you will be so excited to go to plum valley where the fruit all turns into red.

In June, Moc Chau is a little bit hot in the morning and noon, then cooling in the afternoon and at night is cold. You can enjoy the Dai Yem waterfall and the green tea hills in Moc Chau plateau.
July and August is the rainy season, however, Moc Chau is filled with the H’mong’s peach and advocado. September has the big festival to celebrate the independence day of Vietnam.
Moc Chau in October, November and December is cooler and it is also the season of flower. H’mong people’s tet starts from the beginning of Lunar December when you can experience some Tet activities in Moc Chau. Strawberry is grown and can be harvested during this season.
